ENA stands for "Eglantine & Alberto", also for "Europe & America". “We are from Europe and live in America, we make wine on American terroirs with European personalities.”

At ENA, we are constantly looking for unique vineyards in the Northern California to translate in vibrant, elegant and complex wines… ENA wines are made to share our passion, to make you travel in a unique place and time and mostly to be enjoyed, always calling for another sip!

Conscious of the environment, we work with vineyards farmed under sustainable, organic and/or regenerative principles. To reduce our waste and carbon footprint, we are using light weight bottles with no capsules.

Our winemaking, in a nutshell, is an assertive approach towards nature rather than obstructive. Our decisions are based on improving the expression of the vineyard, rather than pushing wines towards a style. There is no trick, no makeup. With minimal intervention, we ferment with native yeasts and carefully select our barrels to respect the fruits.

OUR STORY

She, from Cote d'Azur-Provence, grew up surrounded by vines and wines. He, from Milan, couldn’t hold his need of fermenting and got into brewing. Yes, there are no vineyards in Milan…

The irony of fate made them meet in 2010, in Margaret River, Western Australia. They met making wine and are making wine, together, ever since. The passion for wine and viticulture took them around the world, experiencing cultures, discovering winemaking technics and vinegrowing practices. In 2014, they decided to settle in Northern California and founded ENA in 2019.

We always dreamed to start producing our own wine. In 2019, we got an amazing opportunity to meet Dan Dooling and discover Mariah Vineyards, a magical and enchanted vineyard, on top of the Mendocino Ridge AVA. And just like that, ENA born!”

  • EGLANTINE CHAUFFOUR

Growing up in the South of France, Eglantine has always been fascinated by senses, especially smell and taste and their power to contribute to emotions, build memories, and transport people to a specific time and place of their memories and experiences.

During her agronomy studies, she rapidly fell in love with vine growing and winemaking. This passion for wine has taken her over the world, vintage after vintage, experiencing cultures, winemaking techniques with multiple grape varieties and meeting extraordinary personalities. After travelling through France, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, she decided to settle in beautiful Sonoma County, California in 2014.

Her dream… making wines as a true reflection of the grapes, the vineyard, and the vintage with a touch of personality. Wines that build unforgettable memories and emotions. Wines that make you travel instantaneously in time to visit a place, a terroir, a person.

The first step in this journey was to find the place to travel to... It happened in 2019, when Alberto and her discovered Mariah Vineyards, and got enchanted by its purity, its energy and its ecosystem.

  • ALBERTO BIANCHI

Alberto was born in Milan, Italy, where at 18 years old, thanks to the infused passion for wine of his family, decided to start his studies in Viticulture and Winemaking. This brought him to travel and make wine throughout the world from Tuscany and Piedmont to Argentina, France, Australia, New Zealand and of course California.

During this time Alberto earned a Bachelor’s degree in viticulture and enology from the University of Milan, then went on to achieve a double Master degree in the same subjects from the University of Turin and the University of Lisbon.

Today Alberto works as winemaker in Napa Valley and on the side, after seven years spent in California, together with Eglantine builds ENA day by day.

“My aim is to make wines that excite me, wines of freshness and tension, that want to be drunk sip after sip, wines that showcases the beauty and unicity of the land where the magic happens. My objective is to share my feelings with all of you through our wines…  and with Mariah Vineyard there is a lot to express! “
